change.

13 07 2011

I could of seen this coming from a mile away. I just never thought the changes would be this drastic. Things I thought were untouchable, like the map, and even the face of the puffles, along with the card we used to feed them with. It’s complicated, and a pain in the ass.

They map is also completely changed. I don’t see what was wrong with the old map, or that just may be me. The map does actually work for the most part, as it gives good separation, and organization between things. There aren’t really many flaws with it either, and to be fair, I actually don’t think it’s that bad.

The new Club Penguin Map

So that’s that, and I just wanted to get that out of the way. Due to a crappy computer, I haven’t been able to post, or even be on Club Penguin for the past few months. Also, I am still looking for someone to take this site over with me. Leave a comment if intrested.

Return of the Sports Stadium

1 08 2010

Hello! Recently, my friend Redfooteye published certain things about Club Penguin physics. It made me think about the sports center, which is the soccer field now, if they can fix up that a little more, it can become an awesome place to be.

Now I’m not talking, enhance the soccer or hockey so it competes with NHL 11, I would just like them to fix the constant glitch of the ball getting stuck. Also, if penguins are not playing, could they please go sit in the stands? I might be asking a little much when I said to increase the puck or ball physics, because EA’s NHL 11 is trying to get that right with their game. But if you could Club Penguin, at least fix the ball getting stuck in the net.

Also the soccer rink is awful. The nets are glitched beyond reason. They use the same net sizes as the ice rink, but make them physically bigger. However, I really want to talk about the stadium though. I could be a great chance for a new game, that enhances those physics, and gives the players lines. And a chance to play 5.V.5 against other penguins. The game could be kept score, and have goalies. If they made the game, and made it available to all players, this could make the stadium the new dock.

That reason up there, is something I really would like to see. The dock overturned by the stadium. Even though it could mean a lot more people sitting in the center of the field, it could also make more amazing games, and make use of the vendors on the sides. Club Penguin has yet to bring back the ice rink for quite some time, even when Kane was celebrating with the Stanley Cup. I would love to see the ice rink come back, and have all the cool features and detail as the soccer rink.

If Club Penguin is going to ditch their sport, for soccer, I will not be happy. This could be due to soccer being the more popular sport in the United States. As far as being played in my school, I have my group of friends that play hockey, and then my 100 others that play soccer. Club Penguin is bringing back the ice rink hopefully soon, probably at the start of hockey season.

The soccer stadium is loaded with detail in the stands, and it’s a shame that not many penguins come into the stadium. Club Penguin has introduced many cool rooms that haven’t been here before, yet aren’t the spot to be. The stage is awesome for many penguins, but no one just goes there to chill. The sports stadium is an amazing place to be in Club Penguin, and I really hope that more people would go there on a daily basis.

Why I Do This

31 07 2010

I was put into a state of shock today! A penguin claimed to visit my site often, came up to me and said, “You’re Dart?” I said yes, of course, and was excited. She seemed almost nervous, excited, and any other emotion you can fit in there. So I dedicate this to all my fans, to that penguin, and to all of my friends epically.

Why do I sit?
Why waste time?
Try to make words rhyme
After all not like anyone’s here
No ones hear to listen
But yet I sit here and glisten
The suns baking
I’m shaking under this pressure
If only I could lesser the quota
As I sit drinking this soda
Lingering on a topic
As I finally pick
My mind plays a trick
And makes me blind
As it takes me for a wind
But this time I find a different step
I kept my cool
But looked like a fool
It doesn’t matter because I know it’s all cool
I have my friends and fans
Who will never come
To an end or bend.

Talkin’ 2 Myself

30 07 2010

Is any body out there? I guess I keep talking to myself. It feels like I’m going insane. I’m talking of course, about the word filters on Club Penguin. They are very annoying, and my friends have retreated to a chat box many times. They are the center of hate for many penguins, and are getting stricter and stricter. That’s to blame on Disney making the age of average players lower and lower. Disney is not all to blame for this, and I’m getting sick of talking about Disney right now. Many of the words I use today are gone, and right now, I’m not completely focused on writing this. There are many thing that are going to make me distracted right now. Whether it be the EMIN3M blasting on my computer right now, the other topics that are going to be expressed in this, or the girl running past my house right now. But the filters on Club Penguin have made me say, “Did it show?” It makes you go insane. Then you have to break it down, and try to trick the filters.

This however is a very good way to avoid getting sued. The filters are made so nothing that could possibly be harmful to young children. Suppose a 6 year old is sitting, with his safe chat, and one of his parents is next to him. They see words that broke though the filters. Their child repeats the words that they saw. They get in trouble. The parents didn’t know that their child would see that. So who is to blame? Who’s to blame for a glitch in the software? Even if it was a hack that someone used, Disney can be sued. Again losing money. This has happened before with other games, even if it is a hack. Look up “Grand Theft Auto Hot Coffee Controversy”. You’ll see what I mean. IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, DO NOT SEARCH THAT!

But part of this, is that I’m getting older. That had all the words I could have possibly wanted when I was 9. Now I’m 13 and my vocabulary has changed for better and worse. While the filters are blocking out words that are stopping many penguins from having a conversation. Some do not even mind. A penguin I asked Pinkiwinki9, and she hated them. Redfooteye, claimed they were awful because numbers were not able to be typed. However that is so phone numbers couldn’t be given to creepy people.

Thank you for reading, I hoped you enjoyed this. Tell me what you think about the word filters in Club Penguin today in the comments.

It isn’t them its you, you baby. Quit worrying about what they do and be Dart. I’m going freaking crazy.

Disney’s Seeds

29 07 2010

This was something that had me stunned. The average age of Club Penguin users is about 9-10. While I was continuously hating the fact that Disney is bring more young population then ever, I thought back. Friends of mine from school where telling me about Club Penguin in the lunch line. I didn’t understand what she was saying, I thought it was Club Pumpkin at first. Then I went in and set up my account, Dart211, and I was off. I was shocked. At the time I was simply in awe, the places you can go, and what you could do! There was a light house! Some small life ring I could pick up and put on my player card! I remember the first time I saw Rockhopper. My mother was screaming at me, but it was Rockhopper, the pirate. I got his background and was the happiest penguin in the world. I was 9 years old.

I’m now writing to you as a mature 13 year old 4 years later. 2006 doesn’t seem as long ago as it really is, but it is so different today. Before cursing was a no no, you’d get told on or banned in this case. Club Penguin has changed and so have I. The crowd however, is still somewhat the same. They are the same age as I was when I played Club Penguin, when I did play Club Penguin with my friends before the filters blocked most of my words, (more on that in a later post) it was a very fun game. And that is why Disney bought Club Penguin. Disney knew it was popular with 8-10 year olds, which makes up half of their fan base.

Disney struck gold buying Club Penguin, and they made it much more fit for a 9 year old. I’m now 13, and enjoy running over pedestrians in Grand Theft Auto 4, and they are 8-10, and enjoy walking around as their penguins and  dressing them up in what ever they want to. Disney is bringing in more and more young children, and that might have kept Club Penguin alive.

When Club Penguin stated that they were bought by Disney, they claimed that they were looking for many other company’s, including Sony Entertainment Group. That would have been better for attracting an older age group. Disney is not to blame for all the new charges and their new slogan, “Membership Means More”. That’s because Disney bought Club Penguin for 300 million dollars, which was to much. They need to make a profit, thus they are charging for memberships, and to play exclusive levels in games.

Now I probably lost you in that economy based paragraph so you can pick back up here. Disney is getting young children to play this game, being spread by their website. Also, anyone notice the Disney related names like Miley11 or Jonas10? Before Club Penguin was spread by word of mouth. So to the generation of 13 year olds with 1,000 day old penguins, we did are job. We told are friends to play this game, and we kept it alive so Disney could take it away to safety today.

Disney’s Money Stamps

28 07 2010

Stamps are making Club Penguin a fun place to be. But wait!? I just got all of the stamps I could get in a few days. SO here is what they did:

  • Penguins are now communicating and scream “TURN BLUE!”
  • They are making Penguins communicate.
  • They made games be shortened.

Well, there is nothing out of the ordinary there, right? Ya, nothing weird about that 3rd bullet. Well no, its awful. Now to the people reading this; I’m sure you remember I was not with Disney at all. I hated Disney buying out Club Penguin. I knew that they where going to make it more child aimed. Many thought that they were going to need to be a member.

This is how that worked out: Disney got Club Penguin to be a younger group of 6-9 by Club Penguin being advertised on Disney’s website. Disney.com reaches millions of hits per week, with half of those views being from 6-9 year olds. Club Penguin is also forcing membership.

Why Club Penguin is doing this? The answer is something that has run though history since the dawn of time. Money. That’s cause wars, that’s caused nations to go down in as something you fall asleep about in history class. But I’m not happy that they shortened most of the games. Chances are they will have member only tables and sled races for find four and sled racing. Stamps where a distraction to make people want to be members. It’s also an idea I’ve seen playing Xbox 360, and Play Station 3. Achievements and Trophy respectively. But what gets most of the penguins on here unhappy is the greed of Club Penguin. They signed a 350 MILLION DOLLAR DEAL. That’s $350,000,000. If Club Penguin must scam more children out of their money, they would do this. However I do not hate Club Penguin for this because it is all about money. I don’t blame Club Penguin or Disney for wanting to snag extra money any way they can. It’s simple business.  I’m just not happy with the result of Club Penguin wanting to snag some dough though.

The stamps, while heavily related, are cool. They’re fun to try and get, and you feel awesome once you get one. I really wish that there was a 1,000 days stamp, because I’d be one of the few that have that! Overall stamps in Club Penguin are a way for members to get more advantages. Also, if membership continues to mean more, look for higher membership prices.

Now to the help I’ve been looking for. I’ve gotten some of it in the form of Redfooteye. I’m hoping he will post regularly. He is also a close friend of mine, but look for shorter posts from him. He will be taking on other Club Penguin topics that he wants to. I’m hoping that this will work, and that we will be able to communicate and not end up with the same posts. Look for more posts in the future, with me, Dart211, and Redfooteye. I am still open for more people to work for me. If you are interested contact me.
